Adobe has released the 2024 version of its Photoshop Elements app, which includes several AI-powered features. One of the standout additions is the Artistic Effect tool, which allows users to apply filters to make their photographs look like paintings. These effects are based on famous art styles and artists such as Vincent Van Gogh. Users have control over the strength of the filters and can even isolate the changes to specific parts of the photograph.Another notable update is the compartmentalization and simplification of Quick Actions, making it easier for users to remove artifacts or highlight backgrounds with just one click. In addition to the AI features, Adobe has expanded the editing tools available in Photoshop Elements. Users can create slideshows with Photo Reels, transfer color and tone with Color Match, and replace backgrounds while keeping the main subject intact using Guided Edits. The software also features a redesigned interface with new fonts, icons, buttons, and color options.
Alongside Photoshop Elements, Adobe has also released the 2024 version of Premiere Elements. While most of the changes in Premiere Elements are not AI-driven, there is an Automatic Highlight Reels feature that scans uploaded videos to create highlight reels by selecting high-quality footage and people in motion. Users can also transfer colors between videos and improve sound quality with new audio effects.
The desktop versions of Photoshop and Premiere Elements have received these updates, while the web and mobile companion apps are currently undergoing beta testing. Mobile updates, including the Quick Actions feature, are still in development.
