News and Updates for Swashbucklers Everywhere

Arrr, the Giants be sendin' their offensive line swashbucklers to the IR, as injuries be hauntin' 'em like a cursed treasure!

2023-10-19

Arr, mateys! Methinks that Shane Lemieux, the offensive guard of the New York Giants, hath joined the mighty crew of injured offensive linemen for Big Blue this season. Aye, the poor lad be sufferin' from the same misfortune as his brethren.

In 17th-century pirate language, me hearties, the New York Giants be facin' some mighty troubles with their offensive line, arrr! Just this Thursday, they received word o' yet another injury to one o' their men. Guard Shane Lemieux, bless his soul, tore his biceps durin' Wednesday's practice in East Rutherford, New Jersey, and he were sent off to the injured reserve.

Now, the Giants be no slouches in handlin' their problems. They wasted no time in signin' lineman Sean Harlow from the Dallas Cowboys' practice squad to fill Lemieux's boots on the active roster. That be the fourth lineman they've brought in from a practice squad this week, me hearties! They even welcomed back Justin Pugh, a lad they drafted in the first round o' the 2013 NFL Draft, from their own practice squad. Pugh played at left tackle against the Buffalo Bills after an injury to Josh Ezeudu, who had taken over from Andrew Thomas.

But the injuries don't stop there, me hearties! Ezeudu himself be placed on the injured reserve due to a toe injury that he tried to play through against the Bills. And poor Thomas, he's been out since Week 1 against the Cowboys. The Giants even had to bring in Tyre Phillips from the Eagles' practice squad and Joshua Miles from the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday.

Why all these signings, ye ask? Well, besides the Giants strugglin' to piece together a decent offensive line in their 1-5 season, injuries be takin' their toll. Lemieux be the seventh injured offensive lineman out o' the original nine that were on the roster from trainin' camp. And it ain't just the line sufferin', me hearties. Quarterback Daniel Jones might be out for a second week due to a neck injury, leavin' Tyrod Taylor to take the helm again. The Giants be not findin' the end zone since Week 3, a dire situation for a team that made it to the playoffs last season.

But there be a glimmer o' hope, me hearties! Running back Saquon Barkley be back on the field and performin' well against the Bills. He showed no signs o' aggravatin' his ankle injury from Week 3. But as they head into Week 7 against the Washington Commanders, the Giants' offensive line troubles be continuin' like a merry-go-round, with injuries pilin' up. Aye, 'tis a rough sea they be sailin' on, me hearties!
