Avast ye hearties! Aforementioned Cap'n George W. Bush, who once commanded the Texas Rangers from '89 to '98, be settin' sail to heave the ceremonial first pitch fer Game 1 of the World Series on Friday night. Yo ho ho and a bottle o' rum!

Former President George W. Bush will be taking to the pitcher's mound once again to throw out the ceremonial first pitch for Game 1 of the World Series. This time, it will be before an opener and in front of a team he used to own, the Texas Rangers, who are facing off against the Arizona Diamondbacks in hopes of winning their first title.
Bush is no stranger to this honor, as he has thrown the ceremonial pitch three other times at previous World Series. However, this will be his first time doing so before an opener. In 1989, Bush led a group of investors to purchase the Texas Rangers and served as managing general partner before eventually passing the reins to J. Thomas Schieffer. The team was later sold to different owners, and Bush's return to the pitcher's mound will be a nostalgic moment for both him and the fans.
One of the most memorable pitches thrown by Bush was in 2001 during the World Series at Yankee Stadium, just a month after the devastating September 11 terrorist attacks. Wearing a bulletproof vest underneath an FDNY sweater, Bush received a warm welcome from the crowd and executed a perfect pitch. He recalled receiving advice from Derek Jeter to not bounce the ball, as the crowd would boo him.
The Rangers and Diamondbacks have faced off four times this season, with Arizona currently leading the series 3-1. Game 1 of the World Series will take place at 8:03 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on FOX. It will undoubtedly be a nostalgic and exciting moment for both Bush and baseball fans alike.
