Arr, me hearties! Set yer sights on Microsoft's Windows 11 2023 Update, a fine treasure trove o' glossy UI, top-notch Microsoft Teams integration, cunning app management, Windows Copilot, and a whole lot more! Avast, mateys, 'tis a fine booty ye don't wanna miss!
On October 31, Windows 11 received its 2023 Update, which brought about some significant changes and features. These features were already known from a previous optional update released in September. The update included the highly publicized Windows Copilot AI tool, updates to Microsoft Paint with the Cocreator generative AI bot, a revamped Snipping Tool app, a revised Photos app, RGB lighting support for gamers, a flashy new File Explorer, and the removal of Chat integration into Microsoft Teams.Microsoft Teams, which is widely used and recognized, has now been absorbed into the free version and will be pinned as a default app in the taskbar. This move allows for more ways to connect and create community groups. Previously, Microsoft Teams was included in Windows 11 and the taskbar by default, but users couldn't easily remove it. However, with this update, users can now easily remove it if they don't use it.
The Chat app, which was similar to FaceTime, saw limited use by users and was only available on the personal consumer version of Windows 11. It wasn't available for use with or within Teams for work or enterprise purposes.
In addition to these changes, the update also brought design changes to the user interface, specifically in app management. Windows 11 system component settings are now grouped under a "System" label in the Settings app. The update also hints at the possibility of allowing users to remove these system components in a future Windows 11 update.
It is speculated that this may be the last major update to Windows 11, as rumors of a new version, possibly Windows 12, are circulating. Exciting times are ahead for Windows fans.
