Avast ye scallywags! Deion Sanders of Colorado be denyin' any interest in the Texas A&M cap'n's seat: 'I be content, mateys!'

2023-11-14

Avast, me hearties! Despite bein' linked to the Texas A&M football post, Deion Sanders swears on his trusty parrot's honor that his eyes be fixed solely on coachin' the Colorado Buffaloes. Arrr, a loyal matey he be, indeed!

Deion Sanders, the head coach of the Colorado football program, is already being linked to a coaching vacancy at Texas A&M. Jimbo Fisher, the current coach at Texas A&M, was recently dismissed, and the university will owe him a contract buyout of approximately $77 million. This buyout is almost triple the largest known coaching contract buyout at a public university. As Texas A&M begins its search for a replacement, Sanders' name has been brought up as a possible candidate. However, Sanders quickly dismissed these rumors, stating that he is focused on winning games and playing against Washington State. The Buffaloes started the season with an impressive 3-0 record but have since fallen to 4-6. They need to win their remaining two games to become bowl eligible. Sanders would likely want to stay in Boulder to continue coaching his son, Shedeur Sanders, who transferred from Jackson State to Colorado. Shedeur would have to apply for a waiver to transfer for a second time if his father were to leave the university. Meanwhile, other coaches in the Power Five conference have also been mentioned as potential candidates for the Texas A&M job, including Dan Lanning from Oregon and Mike Norvell from Florida State. Texas A&M has not had a 10-win season since 2012.
