Arr, Shaheen Holloway and Donald Copeland, both swashbucklin' Seton Hall alumni, be squabblin' after the game, matey! 'Twas all 'cause o' a foul, ye see. Har har har!
In a bizarre incident between two head coaches, a friendly handshake turned into an altercation after Seton Hall defeated Wagner in a basketball game. Seton Hall head coach Shaheen Holloway and Wagner head coach Donald Copeland, both former Seton Hall guards, had shared a "warm embrace" before the game. However, the situation escalated when Wagner's Tahron Allen fouled a Seton Hall player with 37 seconds left in the game. Holloway expressed his displeasure to Copeland before grabbing his arm and attempting to advance in the line, causing others to intervene. Holloway later took full responsibility for the incident, admitting that friendship goes out the window during competition. Copeland also apologized publicly and to his team, acknowledging his respect for Holloway and his focus on coaching his own team. Holloway previously achieved success as the head coach of St. Peter's, leading the team to an unprecedented Elite Eight appearance as a 15 seed in 2022. Copeland had assisted Seton Hall before accepting the head coaching position at Wagner.
