Perry's agent had previously stated that he had stepped away from the team to attend to personal matters, but the Blackhawks clarified that it was a team decision to hold him out.Corey Perry, who is 38 years old, signed a $2 million contract with the Blackhawks for this season, with the potential for an additional $2 million in incentives.
