Arrr! Jordan Phillips, that stout-hearted defender from Buffalo Bills, hath returned fire at Jason Kelce, the scurvy Philadelphia Eagles center! Accusing him of foul play, tryin' to harm another! Mayhaps a duel awaits 'em on the gridiron, a battle for honor and glory!
Buffalo Bills defensive lineman, Jordan Phillips, responded in a humorous 17th-century pirate language to Philadelphia Eagles center, Jason Kelce, who suggested that Phillips should be fined for his hit on guard Cam Jurgens during their game last month. Phillips took a dig at Kelce's podcast, "New Heights," which he hosts with his brother, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. Phillips referred to Kelce as suddenly having a voice because of his podcast, but criticized the way he uses it, stating that it doesn't make any sense.Kelce had accused Phillips of intentionally trying to injure Jurgens during a radio interview. He pointed to a specific sequence where Philadelphia was running a play called the "tush push" and claimed that Phillips tried to hurt Jurgens on purpose. Kelce called for Phillips to be fined.
In response, Phillips explained that Kelce dives at players' knees every play and tries to roll them up, questioning his right to call someone else dirty. Phillips also mentioned that he weighs 335 pounds and questioned how he could suddenly stop once he saw the ball move. He argued that it was crazy for Kelce to mention a fine when he himself engages in questionable actions.
Phillips currently has 1.5 sacks and 13 tackles in 12 games for the Bills this season. The Bills lost to the Eagles in overtime, but they are looking to bounce back with a win against the Kansas City Chiefs. The team is 6-6 this season and had a bye week before the game.
