Arrr, me hearties, the scurvy dog who be the offensive coordinator for the Minnesota Vikings hath found himself in a tight spot! Arrested on a DWI charge, he be! But fear not, for the team be sayin' he'll still set sail to Vegas for their clash against the Raiders! Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum!

In a swashbuckling turn of events, Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator Wes Phillips found himself in quite the predicament. Arrr, he was arrested on Friday night, mateys, on a misdemeanor charge of driving while intoxicated, aye! The scallywag was taken to the Hennepin County Jail at 11 p.m. CT, after blowin' a 0.08% when he was stopped by the Minnesota State Police.

But hold on to yer hats, me hearties! Despite this misadventure, the Vikings have decided that Phillips will still be joinin' the team for their game against the Raiders in Las Vegas this weekend. Yarr, they be standin' by their man. "Wes immediately notified the team following his arrest last night," they announced in a statement. "This morning, we contacted the NFL, and after internal discussion, made the decision Wes will travel with the team to Las Vegas this afternoon. We will continue to gather information regarding the incident and have further comment at the appropriate time."

Arr, this be Phillips' second season with the Vikings, havin' previously served as a tight ends coach and pass game coordinator for the Los Angeles Rams. He even won himself a Super Bowl with them, me hearties! This talented scallywag began his NFL journey in 2007 with the Dallas Cowboys, where he worked his way up from a quality control coach to an assistant offensive line coach, before finally settlin' as a tight ends coach. Before arrivin' in Minnesota, he spent some time workin' for Washington as well.

Ahoy, Phillips be the son of the legendary NFL coach Wade Phillips, who had his own adventures with teams like the Denver Broncos and the Buffalo Bills. He even held interim titles for the New Orleans Saints, Atlanta Falcons, and the Houston Texans.

Our dear pirate, Phillips, was released on a $300 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on December 21st. Let's hope he learns his lesson and sticks to sailin' the seas of football rather than the treacherous waters of drunken drivin'.
