Avast ye scurvy dogs! The NBA cap'n, Adam Silver, be spoutin' to the lubbers that he'll parley with the fearsome Ja Morant of the Memphis Grizzlies, as his 25-game keelhaulin' be reachin' its end. Yo-ho-ho, let the chat begin!

Memphis Grizzlies' basketball player, Ja Morant, is nearing the end of his 25-game suspension, and NBA Commissioner Adam Silver has revealed that he will be having a conversation with Morant this week. The suspension was imposed on Morant in June after an investigation into a second incident where he appeared to display a gun on social media. Silver stated that he has been closely monitoring the situation and intends to have a direct check-in with Morant. The league office, along with Morant's team and the players association, have been in regular contact and have established a program for him to follow during his suspension. According to Silver, Morant has been compliant with all the requirements thus far. Silver plans to review the program with Morant to ensure that the necessary conditions are in place for his success going forward.

When Morant was initially suspended, Silver stated that he would need to develop and fulfill a program with the league that specifically addresses the circumstances surrounding his repeated behavior. The 25-game mark for the Grizzlies is set for a game against the Oklahoma City Thunder on December 18, and Morant would be eligible to return on December 19 against the New Orleans Pelicans.

Morant had previously served an eight-game suspension in March for displaying a firearm while intoxicated at a nightclub and was later seen intentionally displaying a gun on a friend's social media. The Grizzlies have struggled in Morant's absence, currently holding a record of 6-15. Despite the suspension, Morant remains a two-time All-Star and the 2019-2020 Rookie of the Year.
