It is reported that he fell inside his home in Chattanooga, Tennessee and hit his head, ultimately being found unresponsive later that afternoon. The family plans to honor his wishes by working with experts on brain injury and CTE research.After retiring from his playing career, Wycheck became a popular figure in the sports broadcasting world, providing color commentary for Titans radio and hosting a local sports talk radio show. He was also inducted into the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame in 2013. The team is expected to release an official statement regarding his death.
Wycheck had an impressive career in the NFL, playing 11 years with the Houston Oilers and the Tennessee Titans. He tallied 505 catches for 5,126 yards and 28 touchdowns, but his most memorable moment came in the famous "Music City Miracle" play during the 1999 AFC wild card game against the Buffalo Bills. He threw a lateral pass to Kevin Dyson, who sprinted 75 yards for a game-winning touchdown.
