Avast ye scallywags! The likes of Sean Stellato, Tommy DeVito's agent, be denyin' the claim that he be known as "Slimy" back in his college days, as them Manning lads dared to utter during "Monday Night Football." Shiver me timbers, the truth be lost in Davy Jones' locker!
Sean Stellato, the agent of New York Giants quarterback Tommy DeVito, made an appearance on ESPN's "Monday Night Football" broadcast, catching attention for his outfit. During the ManningCast with Peyton and Eli Manning, the brothers mentioned that Stellato had a college nickname, "Slimy." However, Stellato was not pleased with this revelation. He called into WFAN's "Boomer and Gio" show to dispute Manning's claim, stating that he had never heard that nickname before.During the pregame warmups, Stellato was dressed in a black pinstripe suit, sporting a gold chain and a black fedora. He stood next to DeVito, who has gained popularity in New Jersey in recent weeks. Stellato mentioned that he met Peyton Manning at the Pro Bowl while accompanying his client Andrew DePaola, a long-snapper. Stellato even challenged the Manning brothers to a 40-yard dash to settle things, but he made it clear that he would not apologize for his Italian-American heritage.
Stellato also revealed that he will be inducted into the Italian American Sports Hall of Fame in Chicago, connecting his heritage with DeVito and his family. Despite the nickname controversy, Stellato remains focused on being a father to his four daughters and representing his clients to the best of his ability. He has a strong relationship with all 32 teams and believes that Manning may have gotten his nickname inspiration from watching too much "Goodfellas."
