The Golden State Warriors' star player, Stephen Curry, saw his impressive streak come to an end on Sunday as the team secured a 118-114 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers. Curry had previously managed to hit at least one 3-pointer in 268 consecutive games, making him the record holder in this category. He also held the second-longest run with 157 games. The last time he failed to make a 3-pointer was on November 8, 2018, against the Milwaukee Bucks. The game against Portland proved to be a tough night for Curry as he missed all eight of his attempted 3-point shots. Warriors coach Steve Kerr acknowledged that the team cannot solely rely on Curry to bail them out every night and emphasized the importance of everyone stepping up and supporting each other. In spite of Curry's off-night, the Warriors managed to secure the win with Klay Thompson contributing 28 points. The victory brought the team's record to 12-14, while the Trail Blazers fell to 6-19. Curry, a two-time MVP, holds the NBA career record for made 3-pointers with an impressive 3,505. He finished the game against Portland with seven points and eight assists. This is not the first time Curry's streak has come to an end. In 2022, during the postseason in Game 5 against the Boston Celtics, his streak of 132 consecutive made 3-pointers was broken. However, the Warriors went on to win the NBA title in the following game. Currently, Curry is averaging 28 points per game this season and has a 41.1% 3-point percentage. Overall, Curry's streaks and records make him one of the most dominant and influential players in the NBA today.
