HP is said to be working on a new gaming laptop called the Omen Transcend 14, which is rumored to be the world's lightest 14-inch gaming laptop. Leaked images and specifications reveal that the laptop will weigh around 3.5 pounds and be less than half an inch thick. Despite its slim form factor, the Omen Transcend 14 is expected to deliver good performance. The laptop will be powered by one of two Meteor Lake processors, with the more powerful option being the Intel Core Ultra 9 185H. It will also feature NVIDIA GeForce RTX graphics cards, up to 32GB of RAM, and a maximum storage size of 2TB.
In terms of design, the Omen Transcend 14 shares similarities with its predecessor but has some adjustments. The laptop has a single USB-C port and headphone jack on the left side, while the older model has two ports. The keyboard and trackpad have also been slightly modified.
To address the issue of heat, HP has equipped the Omen Transcend 14 with a robust cooling system consisting of ventilation ports and fans. The laptop sits on rubber stands to ensure proper airflow, and there will be an app to control the internal cooling system.
The Omen Transcend 14 features a better OLED display compared to its 16-inch sibling, with a resolution of 2,880 x 1,800 pixels. It also supports Wi-Fi 7, has a 1080p webcam, and offers a battery life of up to 11.5 hours.
