Comanche and a 19-year-old woman named Sakari Harnden were accused by Las Vegas police of plotting and executing a murder plan against Marayna Rodgers. The two were initially arrested on kidnapping charges but later identified as responsible for Rodgers' murder.According to the report, Comanche and Harnden started planning the killing on November 30. Comanche was arrested by the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office Major Crimes Bureau at the Stockton Kings' practice facility in California. He was subsequently released by the team and taken into custody. During his interrogation, Comanche provided more details about the murder to detectives. He revealed that he and Harnden had dated in the past and remained friendly. Comanche claimed that Harnden had issues with Rodgers, who allegedly threatened her over a Rolex watch. This led the two to plan her murder.
Comanche confessed that they devised a plan involving "kinky sex" to lure Rodgers into a trap. She agreed, thinking she would earn $1,000 for it. However, once in the car, Comanche wrapped an HDMI cord around Rodgers' neck, but stopped when he heard her struggling to breathe. Harnden allegedly then choked Rodgers to death. They later dumped her body in Henderson and covered it with rocks. Comanche was able to pinpoint the location of the body on a map.
Harnden now faces charges of open murder, buying/possessing/receiving stolen property, and theft. Comanche is currently being held without bail in California. The 6'10" center, who went undrafted from the University of Arizona, had played for the Stockton Kings and made a single appearance in the NBA with the Portland Trail Blazers during the 2022-2023 season.
