Ryan Minor, a former MLB player, passed away at the age of 49 due to cancer. He was an All-American basketball player and played a crucial role in helping the OU baseball team win the 1994 national title. Minor was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles and played in 87 games over three seasons with them. The Orioles expressed their sadness and offered condolences to his family. Minor had replaced Cal Ripken Jr. during Ripken's consecutive-games-played streak. Upon learning about his opportunity to replace Ripken, Minor expressed his surprise. Minor's MLB career spanned 142 games, with a batting average of .177 and 27 RBIs. After his playing career, Minor became a coach in Baltimore's minor league system. He managed the Delmarva Shorebirds and the Frederick Keys.
