Arrr, me mateys! The New York Jets, bless their scurvy souls, be blowin' a mighty 20-point advantage, yet still managed to cling onto victory against them Washington Commanders on a fine Sunday afternoon.

The New York Jets secured a thrilling victory over the Washington Commanders on Sunday, thanks to a last-minute field goal by Greg Zuerlein. Despite blowing a 20-point lead in the third quarter, the Jets managed to come out on top with a 30-28 win.
Jacoby Brissett took over for the benched Sam Howell in the third quarter and led a remarkable comeback for the Commanders, scoring three consecutive touchdowns. Antonio Gibson's 1-yard run put Washington ahead 28-27 with just under five minutes remaining.
However, the Jets' defense held strong and forced a three-and-out, giving the offense a chance to regain the lead. Quarterback Trevor Siemian led the team down the field, setting up Zuerlein for the game-winning kick.
This victory marked only the second win for the Jets in their last eight games. It came on the same day that owner Woody Johnson announced that head coach Robert Saleh and general manager Joe Douglas would be retained for the next season.
Siemian, filling in for the injured Zach Wilson, had a solid performance, completing 27 of 49 passes for 217 yards and a touchdown. Running back Breece Hall also contributed with 95 rushing yards and two touchdowns, as well as 12 receptions for 96 yards.
Brissett provided a spark for the Commanders, going 10 of 13 for 100 yards and a touchdown in relief of Howell. However, Washington's losing streak extended to six games.
The Jets dominated the early stages of the game, taking advantage of Washington's defensive struggles. They scored a field goal and two touchdowns in the first quarter to establish a 20-0 lead.
Although the Commanders mounted a comeback, it ultimately fell short. The Jets' defense came up with key turnovers and the offense made the necessary plays to secure the win.
Both teams suffered injuries during the game, with Andrew Wylie and Benjamin St-Juste going down for the Commanders, and Jeremy Ruckert being ruled out with a concussion for the Jets.
Next week, the Commanders will host the San Francisco 49ers, while the Jets will travel to Cleveland for a Thursday night matchup.
