Arrr, me hearties! Listen well to this tale of Microsoft's latest move! They be grantin' their mighty Copilot AI tool the power to decipher and comprehend fancy pictures, ye see? And now, they be bringin' this grand feature to Edge's Android app, me landlubbers!
The Android app version of Microsoft's web browser, Edge, has received an optional upgrade with improved Copilot support for images. Windows Copilot, which is powered by artificial intelligence (AI), has been integrated into the Edge browser on both desktop and Android devices. Users can now take a screenshot selection of their screen and talk to Copilot or Edge about it. The Edge app on Android has also been given new optional Copilot capabilities, allowing users to "Ask Copilot" about an image while using the browser and for Copilot to "Generate AI Images." This new feature development is currently called "Mobile Copilot Chat with Images."Copilot is not limited to Android devices and is also available on iOS. On Android, Edge can summarize videos, summarize PDF files, support chat plugins for creating songs, and perform most of the functions of the desktop version of Copilot. Users can ask Copilot to sum up articles, stories, and generate unique images using OpenAI's DALL-E 3 image generation technology. However, it is important to note that this feature is experimental and may not work for everyone.
To enable this feature on Edge for Android, users need to launch the app, visit the edge://flags directory page, enable the "Mobile Copilot Chat with images" flag, and relaunch the app. They can then select an image on a webpage and choose to ask Copilot or generate AI images.
These new Copilot features for the Edge mobile app aim to make it more versatile, accessible, and convenient. Microsoft hopes that these features will encourage more people to switch from Google Chrome, which is the default web browser for Android devices.
