Arrr, should Jim Harbaugh yearn to sail back to the NFL post plundering the national championship, he be havin' a sturdy recommendation from Colin Kaepernick, his former swashbucklin' signal caller.

Jim Harbaugh, the head coach of the University of Michigan football team, has been rumored to be considering a return to the NFL. After finally winning a national championship with Michigan, and with numerous NFL openings, Harbaugh could be ready to make the jump back to the pros. One of Harbaugh's former NFL players, Colin Kaepernick, believes that teams should be lining up to hire him. Kaepernick, who played for Harbaugh with the San Francisco 49ers, stated that Harbaugh is the coach you call when you want to compete for a championship. Harbaugh previously led Kaepernick and the 49ers to a Super Bowl in 2013, where they lost to the Baltimore Ravens, coached by Harbaugh's brother, John.

It was reported in November that both the Carolina Panthers and Chicago Bears had their eyes on Harbaugh for their coaching vacancies. While the Bears ultimately chose another candidate, the Panthers are still in the market for a new head coach. Harbaugh met with Panthers owner David Tepper last offseason and also had discussions with the Minnesota Vikings. Harbaugh, who is 60 years old, had previously stated that last year would be the last time he pursued an NFL head coaching position. However, after winning the national championship, he was asked about his future plans and expressed a desire to simply enjoy the moment.

Harbaugh left the NFL for Michigan in 2015 after coaching the 49ers. During his time with the 49ers, Kaepernick had a successful run as the team's starting quarterback. Kaepernick's career has been marred by controversy since he began kneeling during the national anthem to protest racial injustice and police brutality in 2016. He has not played in the NFL since. As speculation swirls about Harbaugh's potential return to the NFL, it remains to be seen which team will ultimately secure his services.
