New York State Governor Kathy Hochul made the announcement on Saturday. She communicated with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell regarding the dangerous conditions in Buffalo. Hochul posted on X, stating that in consultation with emergency response teams, Buffalo Bills leadership, and the NFL, the Bills game will be postponed to 4:30 pm on Monday. The game was originally scheduled for Sunday at 1:00 pm. Hochul also announced a full travel ban in Erie County starting at 9:00 pm on Saturday night. The NFL confirmed the rescheduling in a press release, stating that the decision was made in consultation with Governor Kathy Hochul, prioritizing public safety. The Buffalo area is under a winter storm warning, with significant snowfall expected. The Bills have been performing well, winning five consecutive games and clinching the AFC East by defeating the Miami Dolphins in Week 18. The Steelers finished the regular season with a record of 10-7 and won their last three games. The Bills-Steelers game will be the first of two games on Monday, with the Philadelphia Eagles playing the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at 8:15 pm. ET.
