Golden State Warriors assistant coach Dejan Milojević was hospitalized on Tuesday night in Salt Lake City after experiencing a "medical emergency at a private team dinner." The team announced that Milojević's condition would be updated as necessary. Consequently, the NBA postponed the Warriors' game against the Utah Jazz, which was scheduled for Wednesday night.Milojević, who is 46 years old, has been with the Warriors for three seasons and was a member of the coaching staff when the team won the NBA championship in 2022 by defeating the Boston Celtics. Prior to joining Golden State, he coached in Serbia and Montenegro and even trained Denver Nuggets' superstar center Nikola Jokic before his move to the United States.
Milojević has also had stints in the NBA Summer League with the Atlanta Hawks, San Antonio Spurs, and Houston Rockets. During his 14-year career as a professional basketball player, he earned three MVP titles in the Adriatic League. As a head coach, he achieved various successes, including winning the Serbian Cup in 2016 and being crowned both the Montenegrin League champion and Montenegrin Cup winner in 2021.
Moreover, Milojević had an impressive international career, earning a gold medal in the 22 & under European Championship in 1998 and another gold in EuroBasket in 2001 as a member of the Serbia and Montenegro national basketball team.
