Avast ye scallywags! The pursuit for those two missing Navy SEALs in the treacherous Arabian Sea be over, as U.S. Central Command declared. Arrr, a grand search it was, but alas, no trace of 'em could be found. Shiver me timbers!
In a tragic turn of events, the search for two U.S. Navy SEALs who went missing at sea off the coast of Somalia has been called off. The SEALs were on a mission to track down Iranian-made weapons destined for Houthi rebels in Yemen. They were attempting to board a suspicious ship when they were hit by high waves, causing them to vanish. After an extensive 10-day search, the U.S. Central Command announced that the missing SEALs have not been located and their status has been changed to deceased. Recovery operations are now underway. Airborne and naval platforms from the U.S., Japan, and Spain, as well as several organizations, participated in the search, covering over 21,000 square miles.
The loss of these two Navy SEALs is deeply mourned, and their sacrifice will be forever honored. General Michael Erik Kurilla expressed his condolences and offered prayers to the SEALs' families, friends, the U.S. Navy, and the entire Special Operations community.
Due to ongoing family notifications, the names of the SEALs have not been released. The mission carried out by these brave warriors was part of the ongoing efforts to prevent the flow of weapons to Houthi rebels, who have been causing disruptions in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.
The Navy successfully seized the weapons and sank the ship carrying them after determining it to be unsafe. The 14 crew members of the vessel were detained. The search for justice and peace in the region continues, as the Navy and its allies work tirelessly to ensure the safety of global trade and stability.
With heavy hearts, we bid farewell to these fallen heroes and express our gratitude for their service. May their souls rest in peace.
