Arr, ye scurvy dogs be snatchin' up the Vision Pro afore it vanished! Now, it seems them pre-orders be sailin' straight to th' treacherous seas of eBay. Aye, the wind be blowin' in favor of these clever scallywags!

In the language of a 17th-century pirate, me hearties, it be a challenge to know just how many of Apple's Vision Pro mixed reality headsets were sold in their first weekend, but even harder be findin' out if all them purchases be legitimate. Estimations reckon that Apple sold about 180,000 units in the first weekend, but there be no official confirmation from the Cupertino tech giant. Arrr! However, a quick search on eBay be revealin' hundreds and hundreds of Vision Pro headsets up for sale.
Now, before ye get too excited, me mateys, ye should know that Apple hasn't even shipped their first batch of Vision Pro headsets yet. They be takin' pre-orders since January 19, and the first shipments be scheduled for February 2. Most of the listings on eBay be for pre-orders, with sellers promisin' to ship 'em out on the same day as long as they receive 'em before 4 PM. The prices on eBay be varyin' from under $600 to over $7,000, with the base 256GB model listin' for $3,499.99.
Now, why be there so much excitement and activity on eBay, ye might be wonderin'? Well, me hearties, the Vision Pro be a special piece o' loot. It be Apple's first new product category since 2015's Apple Watch. This high-end wearable computer, with its M2 and R1 chips, be aimin' to launch a whole new Spatial Computing category. I've had the pleasure o' tryin' out the Vision Pro meself, and I must say, it be like nothin' else on the market. The gaze and gesture trackin' be impressive, and it can shift smoothly from full immersion to augmented reality. It has the potential to change entertainment, communication, gaming, and productivity, but it also runs the risk of bein' a flop if folks don't understand why they should be shelling out thousands o' doubloons for it.
Now, if ye be thinkin' of makin' a bid on one o' them eBay offers, ye need to be aware o' a few things. First, ye can't order the Vision Pro without doin' a face scan to ensure a proper fit. The sellers on eBay might have done the scan, but there be no guarantee that it'll match yer face shape and size. And if ye be needin' glasses to see, ye'll have to spend an extra $99 to $149 on Zeiss inserts to correct yer vision. Arrr, it be a tricky business, me mateys. I contacted Apple to see if they have any concerns about these eBay listings, and I reckon they won't be too pleased about it.
