Arrr, word be spreadin' that the Carolina Panthers be aimin' to hire Dave Canales o' the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as their next cap'n. Aye, the seas be shiftin' me hearties!

The Carolina Panthers have reportedly hired Dave Canales as their new head coach, making him the franchise's seventh head coach and third in three years. Canales will replace Frank Reich, who was fired midseason. Canales has been in the NFL since 2010, starting with the Seattle Seahawks and most recently serving as the offensive coordinator for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In Seattle, Canales held various coaching positions and helped the Buccaneers improve their offense. Under his guidance, the team moved up from 25th to 20th in scoring, and they won the NFC South with a 9-8 record. Canales will now be tasked with developing quarterback Bryce Young and improving the Panthers' offense, which has been among the worst in the league for the past three seasons. With a record of 2-15 last season, the Panthers' offense ranked 31st in points scored and 32nd in yards gained. Young had a decent season with 2,877 passing yards, 11 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions in 16 games. The Panthers will need to focus on building a strong team around Young during the offseason to improve their performance in the future.
