Find ye treasure on Edge Canary, me hearties! With Circle To Copilot, ye can circle the mysteries on yonder screen and uncover their true nature! Set sail and discover the wonders that lie beneath!
In a humorous tone reminiscent of a 17th-century pirate, it appears that Microsoft is paying a great compliment to Google as they develop their own version of Circle to Search for their Edge browser. Circle to Search is a feature found on the Pixel 8 and Galaxy S24 phones which allows users to circle objects on their devices to quickly search for them on Google. Microsoft's version, known as Circle To Copilot, functions similarly. According to reports, when users circle an on-screen object with their cursor, Copilot appears from the right side with the circled image attached as a screenshot in an input box. Users can then ask the AI assistant what the object is, and it generates a response after a few seconds. The tool also works with text, where users need to draw a circle around the words to highlight them. The Circle To Copilot feature is currently available on the experimental build of Microsoft Edge called Edge Canary. However, not everyone who installs Edge Canary can access the feature due to its unstable nature. It is possible that Circle To Copilot may function better in a future patch, but the exact timeline is unknown. Unfortunately, the feature was inaccessible on the author's PC, so they were unable to test it out and answer questions about its functionality. It is also unclear if Circle To Copilot will be available on Edge for Android in the future.
Despite the inability to try out the feature, the author suggests checking out TechRadar's list of the best AI-powered virtual assistants for 2024.
