Arrr, me hearties! Google be givin' Parallel Downloading another go after it resurfaced in a recent Play Store update. This be a feature that lets Android users install multiple apps at the same time, mateys. It first appeared four years ago when a keen-eyed Reddit user noticed they could download Chrome, Google Photos, and YouTube all at once. But then it disappeared into the depths until industry expert Assemble Debug found it in the files of Google Play version 40.0.13.Assemble Debug tested the feature and found it fully functional, able to download Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Acrobat without a hitch. However, there be some limitations, me hearties. Updates can't be downloaded in parallel, and Google be restricting the number of simultaneous installations to just two apps. But with some tinkering, Assemble Debug managed to increase the limit to five apps at once.If ye be wantin' to join the early test, ye'll need a rooted Android phone and some technical know-how. It's a bit of a risky venture, but the rewards of installing apps in bulk be worth it in the end. Keep an eye out for the official launch of this feature, and in the meantime, check out TechRadar's list of the best Android phones for 2024 if ye be lookin' to upgrade yer device, arrr!
