Arrr mateys! The TikTok CEO be yammerin' about protectin' yer constitutional rights against a bill that'd make China walk the plank! Shiver me timbers! 'Tis like tryin' to keep a chest of gold from a scurvy pirate!

The CEO of TikTok, Shou Chew, is raising a ruckus over a bill that would kick Chinese ownership to the curb from the social media app. The House of Representatives easily passed the measure, putting the pressure on Bytedance to sell off TikTok or face a US ban.In a video message, Chew boasted about TikTok's efforts to keep user data safe from meddling outsiders and vowed to keep fighting against the legislation. He rallied users to stand with him in protecting the platform they've built together. The bipartisan bill, led by Reps. Mike Gallagher and Raja Krishnamoorthi, sailed through the House with a 352-65 vote. President Biden has signaled his willingness to sign off on the divestment legislation if it lands on his desk. While Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer has been noncommittal about bringing the bill up for debate, the strong bipartisan support in the House could make it hard for him and other senators to brush it off.Chew urged users to keep speaking out and defending their rights, while critics continue to sound alarms about TikTok posing a national security risk and China's potential influence over sensitive data through Bytedance.
