Avast ye mateys! Old swabbie Mayock be throwin' shade at Carr's play since Cap'n Gruden be walkin' the plank in 2021. Ye best believe there be a storm brewin' in Raider Nation! Arrr, me hearties!

In the year of our Lord 2023, Derek Carr, the swashbuckling pirate of the football field, nearly guided the New Orleans Saints to the coveted playoffs in his maiden voyage as their starting quarterback. Arrr! After spending a goodly nine years with the scallywags of the Las Vegas Raiders, he made a daring move to a new ship. But alas, in the wake of the Raiders' former skipper Jon Gruden walking the plank over some leaked scroll, the old general Mike Mayock be not amused. "I thought Jon did right by ol' Derek Carr," Mayock quipped, "but since his departure, the lad's been sailing into stormy waters."Gruden's departure in the midst of the 2021 season left the Raiders adrift, with a new captain, Josh McDaniels, at the helm and Dave Ziegler as the quartermaster. Carr, a four-time Pro Bowler, had his best seasons under the watchful eye of Captain Del Rio but has since seen his star wane.Rumors of a trade swirled, but Mayock insisted the Raiders never entertained such thoughts. "There be only a few fine franchise quarterbacks," Mayock declared, "and Derek Carr be among them, mark my words." And so Carr set sail for the Saints, finishing the season with newfound glory and a tally of 3,878 passing yards, 25 touchdowns, and a mere eight interceptions.
