Arrr matey! Come April 10, ye scurvy dogs will be seein' a new rule from the US Federal Communication Commission (FCC). They be mandatin' that internet service providers (ISP) must now display information about their service in a clear and concise manner. Aye, just like them nutrition labels on food boxes, but instead of calories and fats, ye be seein' monthly subscription costs and download speeds on the FCC’s Broadband Labels. The purpose of these rules be to help customers find the best ISP without all the fancy talk. No more bein' tricked by hidden fees, matey! Each label be havin' six sections showin' the provider's name, monthly price, additional charges, and more. No more confusion, all as clear as the Caribbean sea. These labels be the result of a long battle by the FCC to make ISPs more transparent. Some providers be complainin', but the FCC be movin' forward. Big names like Google, Verizon, and T-Mobile have embraced the labels, but smaller providers have 'til Oct. 10, 2024 to comply. If ye be lookin' to improve yer internet connection, check out TechRadar's list of the best WiFi routers for 2024, ye savvy?
