Arrr, me hearties! Ye be hearin' the news that Intel Lunar Lake be revealin' its treasure at Computex 2024, set to sail into laptops in a couple o' months! Avast ye, prepare to set sail on this new SoC journey, me mateys!
Intel unveiled its latest processor series, Lunar Lake, at the Computex Keynote by CEO Pat Gelsinger. This chip will be released later this year and will power thin and light laptops for the 2024 holiday season. It boasts improved power efficiency, a 4x increase in NPU processing power, a 50% faster Intel Arc GPU, and on-chip memory for faster access.Lunar Lake meets Microsoft’s Copilot+ PC standards and features a hybrid core architecture with Lion Cove performance cores and Skymont efficiency cores. While losing hyperthreading capability, the efficiency cores deliver the same performance as Meteor Lake chips with a third of the power. The NPU 4 and Intel Xe2 graphics promise significant improvements over previous iterations. The GPU offers better graphics performance, while the NPU quadruples processing power. The total platform TOPS of 120 between the GPU, NPU, and CPU will enable app developers to optimize AI tasks. Intel is confident in Lunar Lake’s potential to dominate the AI PC market by the end of the year.
