Arrr, me hearties! Word be blowin’ in that the legendary swashbuckler of the greens, Chi Chi Rodriguez, has sailed off to Davy Jones’ locker at the ripe ol’ age of 88! Senator Ríos be spillin’ the beans from Puerto Rico! Raise a tankard for this fine matey!
Ahoy, me hearties! Gather 'round as I regale ye with the tale of Juan "Chi Chi" Rodriguez, a buccaneer of the fairway, who passed to the great golf course in the sky at the ripe age of 88! Aye, word be spreadin’ by the senatorial winds from Puerto Rico, though the cause of this fine sailor’s departure remains shrouded like a treasure map.Chi Chi, the first from his island to sail the PGA seas, was a crafty lad who whacked tin cans with a guava stick as a wee lad. By the time he hit the age of 12, he claimed he could smack a 67! With a heart as bold as a cannonball, he joined the U.S. Army before settin’ sail on the PGA Tour in 1960, where he captured eight victories over a 21-year voyage.
Known for twirlin’ his club like a cutlass and bustin’ moves after a birdie, Chi Chi was a right jolly fellow! Inducted into the Hall of Fame in ’92, he spread good cheer through his charity, the Chi Chi Rodriguez Youth Foundation. So, raise a tankard to this glorious swashbuckler of the greens—may his spirit swing free in the great beyond!
