A brave Kiwi pilot, Phillip Mehrtens, found himself in a pickle when those scallywags of the West Papua Liberation Army snatched him up after he landed his wee flying contraption in Indonesia's uncharted waters! Fire and fury were unleashed upon his vessel, but fear not, for he be free now after a mighty 19-month ordeal!

In a hearty reunion, our hero exclaimed, "Today I finally got out!" His emaciated frame and long hair did little to hide the joy of returnin' to his kin. With tears in his eyes, he thanked all who aided in his perilous escape, and soon be on a ship bound for Jakarta to embrace his family once more. Aye, even the Prime Minister of New Zealand took a moment to tip his hat to those brave souls who worked tirelessly for the pilot’s release amidst the tumultuous backdrop of rebellion and cries for independence in Papua!
