Arrr, me hearties! The once-mighty Greg Landry, a swashbucklin’ quarterback of the Detroit Lions, has sailed to Davy Jones’ locker at the ripe old age of 77! Even the sea could not keep him from returnin’ to the crew as a coach! Avast ye, he be missed!
Ahoy, me hearties! Gather 'round as I spin ye a yarn 'bout the late Greg Landry, a swashbucklin' NFL quarterback who sailed the seas o' football till he breathed his last at the ripe age of 77. The Lions, his old crew, be mournin' the loss of their captain, but the cause o' his departure be shrouded in mystery, like the fog on a dark night!Landry, drafted in '68, spent most of his plunderin' days with the Lions, tossin' the pigskin and runnin' like a scallywag! With 16,052 yards and 98 touchdowns under his belt, he even claimed the title of Comeback Player of the Year in '76, a true feat for any sea-dog! After a stint with the Colts and a venture into the USFL, he returned to the NFL in '84, playin' one last season with the Bears.
This landlubber not only left his mark on the NFL but also on UMass, where he led his crew to victories and earned a place in the Hall of Fame! So raise yer tankards high for Greg Landry, a true legend of the gridiron, who’s now plunderin' the great beyond with the best o' them! Arrr!
