Arrr, matey! Americans be trustin' the media less than a scallywag trusts a leaky ship!

Arrr, matey! It be no surprise that landlubbers be trustin' the media as much as a scallywag trusts a leaky ship! Only 31% be thinkin' the news be true, whilst 36% be tossin' it overboard! 'Tis a right jolly mess, I say!
Avast ye scallywags! Gather 'round and lend me yer ears, for I’ve a tale to tell about the treacherous waters of trust in the land of the free! It seems the good folk of the Americas be lookin’ upon the mass media with naught but a squinty eye and a heart full o’ doubt. A mere 31% of landlubbers be expressin’ any confidence in the scribes and jesters of news, claimin’ they report the truth “fully, accurately and fairly.” Last year, it was a paltry 32%, and it seems the winds of skepticism be blowin’ strong, for this distrust first set sail back in 2016. Arrr! What’s this, ye ask? For three straight years, more hearty souls have thrown their trust overboard—36% of them now trust the media as much as a shark trusts a seal! That’s right, mateys, the seas be rough for newspapers, the tellin’ tubes, and the radio squawkers. The landlubbers be sayin’, “No thanks, I’ll take me news from the tavern gossip instead!” So hoist the flag o’ skepticism high, me hearties, for it seems the media be walkin’ the plank of public opinion! Yarrr!
