Arrr! A band o' treasure hunters with shiny contraptions be findin' 21 gleamin' doubloons near Okehampton Castle nearly a year past! But lo, the tale o' their plunder be spillin' out only now, like a bottle o' rum gone wide! Avast, it be a right merry surprise!
Arrr matey! Gather 'round, fer I be tellin' ye a tale o' treasure forged in the fires o' time! Just over a year ago, a band o' metal detectorists, the Teignbridge History Finders, stumbled upon a hoard o’ 21 shiny coins in a field near the ancient Okehamption Castle, nestled in Devon, England.Led by the valiant Jim Luxton, they braved the winds o’ fate, callin' their marvelous discovery the Okey Hoard. Aye, it took 'em a few weeks to uncover all them coins, with each find makin' ‘em holler like parrots on a sunny day. But alas! The laws o' treasure discovery kept 'em from shoutin' it to the world right away, lest they face the wrath of the local Coroner.
These coins, aged between 1282 and 1434, be consider'd treasures under the Treasure Act of 1996! While they might not fetch a king's ransom, Jim hopes they’ll one day shine in a grand museum. So hoist yer sails, me hearties, fer in the realm o' metal detection, there be fortune and history awaitin' fer those brave enough to seek it!
