Arrr, me hearties! Google Calendar be gettin' a shiny new treasure! Ye can now share yer grand events with a whole crew o' scallywags! No more sendin' messages by bottle, savvy?
The Google Calendar app for Android is getting a much-needed upgrade. It is adding a share button to events, allowing event organizers to invite multiple people at once without having to add each contact's email address individually. This feature was first introduced in March 2023, and now we can see how it looks thanks to a Twitter user and reported by Android Police.Once an event is created, there will be a Share button under the name and date. Tapping on it will give users the option to share the event with platforms like Telegram, WhatsApp, or Discord. Invited individuals can then choose from Yes, No, and Maybe, with the event link being forwarded to their email IDs. The release date for this new feature is unknown, but it appears to be in a complete state already.
Google Calendar continues to innovate and enhance the user experience. In 2023, it introduced features such as allowing users without paid accounts to create paid booking pages and take appointments or meetings through Gmail. It also added a UI update for new location suggestions through Google Maps, making it faster to schedule appointments. Additionally, Google Calendar and Microsoft Outlook improved their interoperability, allowing Outlook users with a Google Calendar to receive invitations and RSVPs directly in Outlook.
It is exciting to anticipate the quality-of-life updates that Google Calendar will add in the future, considering the tech giant's focus on AI features and tools for Google Workspaces.
