Avast! In the land o' United States, a victory o' grand proportions was achieved. Jesús Ferreira, a fearsome striker, did score not just one, but two consecutive hat tricks against Trinidad and Tobago. By doin' so, he has joined the ranks o' the mighty few, as only the third American to accomplish such a feat on the international stage. Arrr, a truly remarkable achievement indeed!

Jesús Ferreira made history as the first American to score consecutive hat tricks in international games, leading the United States to a 6-0 victory over Trinidad and Tobago in the CONCACAF Gold Cup quarterfinals. Ferreira scored two goals in the 14th and 38th minutes, and then converted a penalty kick just before halftime. He credited the team's intensity and collective effort for his success. Cade Cowell and Gianluca Busio also scored their first international goals, while Brandon Vázquez added a goal in stoppage time. Ferreira, the son of former Colombian midfielder David Ferreira, now joins Landon Donovan as the only Americans with three hat tricks. The U.S. topped Group A and will face Canada, Guatemala, or Guadeloupe in the quarterfinals on July 9. The Americans dominated the match, outshooting Trinidad and Tobago 23-9. Trinidad was eliminated from the tournament, but they had previously denied the U.S. a spot in the 2018 World Cup with a home victory. Ferreira's first goal came in the 14th minute after a setup from Cristian Roldan and DeJuan Jones. He then doubled the lead in the 38th minute after goalkeeper Marvin Phillip deflected his initial shot. Ferreira sealed his hat trick with a penalty kick awarded for a foul on Djordje Mihailovic. The U.S. made some changes to the starting lineup, with Matt Turner, Miles Robinson, and Roldan replacing Sean Johnson, Matt Miazga, and Cowell. Midfielder Alan Soñora was sidelined due to injury, and Aidan Morris left the camp for personal reasons. In another match, Jamaica advanced to the quarterfinals with a 5-0 win over St. Kitts.
