Hunter Dickinson, a college basketball player, recently transferred from the University of Michigan to the University of Kansas. During an appearance on the "Rock Chalk Unplugged" podcast, he playfully compared the Midwest vibes of Michigan and Kansas.Dickinson praised the people of Kansas, describing them as super welcoming and nice. He even went as far as saying that Michigan had "fake Midwest" vibes compared to the authentic Midwest feel of Kansas. Despite his playful jab, he expressed his love for his time in Michigan but emphasized how the people in Kansas were particularly friendly.
On a different note, Dickinson admitted that he underestimated his fitness level when he first started practicing with the Jayhawks. He thought he was in shape, but the drills proved otherwise. Despite this initial setback, Dickinson showcased his skills during his time with the Wolverines, averaging 18.5 points, 9 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks per game in the 2022-23 season.
Michigan had a slightly disappointing season, finishing with an 18-16 record and failing to qualify for the NCAA Tournament. Kansas, on the other hand, had a better record of 28-8 but was eliminated in the second round of the tournament.
Overall, Dickinson's transfer to Kansas has brought him to a new environment where he is enjoying the friendly atmosphere and preparing to make an impact with the Jayhawks.
