Arrr, me hearties! We be all wantin' to lower them energy bills, and a shiny new panel Microsoft be tinkerin' with might just lend a hand on that reckonin'. Avast ye, mateys!

Windows 11 may be getting a new feature that allows users to see the power usage of their desktop PCs and individual app power usage data. This feature was discovered in the latest preview build of Windows 11 by a Windows testing detective on Twitter using ViVeTool.
The feature, although hidden, is expected to be added in the future as it would be useful for users to see a breakdown of their PC's power usage and environmental impact. It is especially important as concerns about energy consumption and environmental footprint are becoming increasingly sensitive. In addition to providing energy usage data for the PC and individual apps, Microsoft plans to include overall energy use and emissions data.
While desktop PC users will be able to view energy usage, laptop users will have the option to switch between energy usage and battery level. The Energy (& Battery) Usage panel is not yet fully functional and only displays placeholder readings at the moment.
It is speculated that this feature could be included in the Windows 11 23H2 update, along with Microsoft's AI project, Copilot. Users may be able to request assistance from Copilot to save energy on their PCs based on the data collected by the Energy (& Battery) Usage panel.
However, it is worth noting that the feature is still in development and may not be included in the update.
