Avast ye mateys! Yer ol' ChatGPT be havin' a memory boost, savin' ye from them dreadful reminders. No more tedium, me hearties! Ye be sailin' smooth seas with this spruced up matey by yer side. Arrr!

OpenAI has added a new feature to its AI chatbot ChatGPT that allows the bot to remember user preferences and provide more personalized responses. Users can now input "custom instructions" per request, and the chatbot will remember those instructions for future conversations.
This update comes in response to user feedback, with OpenAI recognizing the importance of steerability in reflecting the diverse contexts and unique needs of each person. The new feature aims to improve user experience with the chatbot by eliminating the need to constantly remind it of prompt parameters.
OpenAI provides an example of how the update can benefit users. For instance, a teacher creating a lesson plan for 3rd-graders can receive age-specific recommendations without having to repeat their request in each conversation.

If you frequently use ChatGPT, you know how frustrating and time-consuming it can be to repeatedly remind the bot of your prompt parameters. Setting custom instructions will save significant time and frustration for users using the chatbot for work, school, or daily assistance.
Currently, this feature is available only to Plus subscribers. However, it is expected to be rolled out to all users across the platform in the near future. Plus subscribers can enable the "Custom instructions" feature in the "Beta features" section of the ChatGPT website settings to start benefiting from the bot remembering their specifications.
