Chad Kuhl, a pitcher for three different MLB teams, has decided to step away from baseball to focus on his wife's battle with cancer. Kuhl made the announcement on Instagram, expressing his gratitude to supporters who have contributed to campaigns benefiting his wife, Amanda. He began the 2023 season with the Washington Nationals but was later released. Kuhl also revealed that he had turned down offers from other teams this season in order to stay in Washington, D.C., where Amanda is receiving treatment. Despite posting an 8.45 ERA this season, Kuhl remains confident that he will return to the mound in the future. He made his major league debut with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2016 and spent five seasons with the team before joining the Colorado Rockies. Throughout his career, he has maintained a career ERA of 4.98 and struck out 536 batters. Earlier this year, Kuhl raised around $65,000 for breast cancer treatment and research.
