Avast ye! Dan Le Batard be slingin' accusations at the notable NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski, claimin' his reportin' o' the Damian Lillard trade talks be askew. Arr, 'tis a quarrel o' the sports realm, me hearties!
Longtime sports media personality Dan Le Batard recently expressed his thoughts on the possibility of the Miami Heat trading for star point guard Damian Lillard from the Portland Trail Blazers. However, Le Batard took issue with ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski and his coverage of the Lillard situation. Le Batard found it embarrassing that Wojnarowski was suggesting that it could take weeks or months for a trade to happen.According to Le Batard, the Heat's offer for Lillard is Tyler Herro, who he believes is the best offer they can make. Le Batard also claimed that Lillard wants to be with the Heat and that there are no ongoing negotiations between the two teams. Le Batard shared clips critical of Wojnarowski on Twitter, which were then retweeted by ESPN contributor Domonique Foxworth, who later removed the retweet. Wojnarowski has not publicly addressed the allegations made against him by Le Batard.
Wojnarowski joined ESPN as a senior NBA insider in 2017 after leaving Yahoo Sports. Foxworth, a former NFL player, now works as an ESPN contributor and hosts his own podcast. Damian Lillard, who has spent his entire 11-year NBA career with the Portland Trail Blazers, recently requested a trade and reportedly prefers to be traded to the Miami Heat. However, Wojnarowski has stated that the trade could take weeks or months due to the Trail Blazers' desire for maximum value in return.
Lillard, a seven-time All-Star and the Trail Blazers' all-time leading scorer, has four years remaining on his contract. Last season, he averaged 32.2 points and 7.3 assists per game in 58 appearances.
