Arrr! Avast ye scallywags! 'Tis dreadful news indeed from the NFL! Dee Eskridge o' the Seahawks and Charles Omenihu o' the Chiefs be walkin' the plank fer missin' the first six games o' the season! Me hearties be hopin' they learn their lesson!
Seattle Seahawks wide receiver D’Wayne "Dee" Eskridge and Kansas City Chiefs defensive end Charles Omenihu have been suspended for six games by the NFL due to violations of the league's personal conduct policy. Eskridge, 26, explained in a statement released by his agency that he was arrested on misdemeanor charges following a February incident with the mother of his child. However, he has entered into an agreement that will result in the dismissal of the charges within 12 months after completing domestic violence moral recognition therapy. It is important to note that Eskridge has not been convicted of any crime and has already enrolled in therapy. He deeply regrets any embarrassment caused to his family, the Seahawks, and the NFL. Omenihu, 25, was also suspended for violating the league's personal conduct policy due to an alleged domestic violence incident in January. San Jose Police were called to Omenihu's home, where a woman claiming to be his girlfriend reported that he had pushed her during an argument. Despite no visible injuries and the woman declining medical treatment, Omenihu's suspension was still imposed. The Chiefs had recently signed Omenihu to a two-year deal worth up to $20 million. These suspensions come after the NFL announced the three-game suspensions of New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara and Indianapolis Colts cornerback Chris Lammons for their involvement in a fight outside a Las Vegas nightclub in 2022.
