Avast ye! The scallywag Raudy Read, once a matey of the Washington Nationals, be none too pleased with the bilge rat who dared to taunt him from the stands. Swift as a cutlass, he dashed to the concourse to face the scurvy dog! Arrr!

Raudy Read, a former Washington Nationals catcher now playing for the Spire City Ghost Hounds in the independent Atlantic League, had a confrontation with a heckling fan during a game against the Long Island Ducks. The incident was captured on the Ghost Hounds' broadcast. The game was in extra innings when Read caught a double play to end the top of the 10th inning. As his team jogged back to the dugout, Read threw his glove towards his teammates and ran into the stands. The play-by-play broadcaster announced that something was happening on the concourse. Audio from an advertisement interrupted the broadcast, but images of the game continued to be shown. Security guards and others were seen calming Read down while his teammates helped him back onto the field. According to a user on Twitter, the fan and his daughter were calling Read derogatory names. Read, who had hit a home run earlier in the game, returned to the field and struck out, ending the game. He played 14 games in the majors with the Nationals in 2017 and 2019.
