Arr, not but a fortnight past, all signs be pointin' to Bryce James makin' way to Campbell Hall. But lo and behold, this young lad o' the hoops be settlin' his sails on a Sherman Oaks high school for his next grand season. Avast, what a change in tides!
The 16-year-old Bryce James, youngest son of NBA superstar LeBron James, has announced that he will be transferring to Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, California for the upcoming high school basketball season. Bryce, a shooting guard, shared his decision on X (formerly known as Twitter) after his first practice with the Knights. Alongside a photo of himself in a Notre Dame jersey, Bryce wrote, "Let's get it."Previously, Bryce played alongside his older brother, Bronny James, at Sierra Canyon High School in Los Angeles. However, Bronny suffered a medical emergency during a USC Trojans basketball practice last month. Despite initially planning to transfer to Campbell Hall in Studio City, California, Bryce changed his mind after visiting Notre Dame's campus. According to the Los Angeles Times, Bryce was impressed by the school during his tour.
Bryce, who is currently ranked as a top 15 shooting guard in the 2025 class by 247Sports, is considered a three-star recruit and the No. 102 overall prospect for his class. Last season at Sierra Canyon, he played on both the junior varsity and varsity teams, averaging 3.8 points per game in his 12 varsity appearances.
Notre Dame's roster already includes four-star prospect Mercy Miller, the son of rapper Master P. Bryce's new coach, David Grace of Campbell Hall, commented on the transfer, saying, "I wish him all the best. He's a great kid."
This move to Notre Dame presents an exciting opportunity for Bryce as he continues to develop his basketball skills and follow in the footsteps of his famous father.
