Arr, me hearties! A fine ship- I mean, a Tennessee high school's lads be playin' their football when a mighty bear, Scurvy Jack, dashed 'cross the field! They had to pause their sportin' for a good 15 minutes, but all was well in the end!

In a hilarious turn of events, a Tennessee high school football team was unexpectedly delayed during a joint practice session when a wild bear made its way onto the field. The incident was captured on video by the team's coach, Brad Waggoner, who jokingly suggested that the bear was trying out for the school's running back position.
The event took place at Gatlinburg-Pittman High School, located in the beautiful Smoky Mountains. Despite the brief interruption, the practice resumed after about 15 minutes, with no reported injuries caused by the bear.
The video of the bear's unexpected appearance quickly went viral, drawing reactions from various individuals. University of Central Arkansas broadcaster Steve Owens expressed his desire for a similar spectacle at UCA's football games, suggesting they find an Arkansas black bear to run onto the field like Ralphie at Colorado. Gatlinburg-Pittman's offensive coordinator, Tyler Williams, humorously compared himself to the bear when called for an "Inside Run."
The Gatlinburg-Pittman Highlanders are part of the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association and are set to kick off their season on Friday against Seymour High School. Their season will conclude on October 26th.
All in all, it was an unexpected and comical event that provided some entertainment for the team and spectators. It goes to show that even in the world of high school football, you never know what surprises nature may have in store.
