Arrr! NASCAR ye ol' sea dog Ken Schrader, a sprightly 68, be plunderin' victory in Canada's race!

2023-08-16

Yarr! 'Twas a glorious battle on the high-speed seas of Ohsweken Speedway in Canada. The seasoned NASCAR buccaneer, Ken Schrader, emerged victorious in the Pinty's Series. Aye, he set sail from the pole position, leaving his rivals in his wake!

In a surprising turn of events, 68-year-old NASCAR veteran Ken Schrader showed that age is merely a number when it comes to competitive spirit and skill. Schrader, who started on the pole, secured a victory in the NASCAR Pinty's Series at the Freshstone Dirt Classic held at Ohsweken Speedway in Canada. Leading the pack for the final 20 laps, Schrader proved that he still has what it takes to conquer the racetrack.

When asked about his win, Schrader humbly stated that he simply drove, giving credit to his crew chief Kyle Steckly and the exceptional car they had prepared. It was a shrewd move by Schrader to capitalize on a crash involving Pinty's Series points leader Treyten Lapcevich and a slower car, creating an opportunity for him to take the lead and hold off the rest of the field.

This victory marks Schrader's first NASCAR-sanctioned win since 2006, when he triumphed at Phoenix Raceway in the Copper World Classic, which is now known as the ARCA Menards Series West. Throughout his career, Schrader has competed in various racing organizations, including the U.S. Auto Club circuit, NASCAR Cup Series, NASCAR Xfinity Series, and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. Although he hadn't participated in the NASCAR Cup Series since 2013, his last win in that series dates back to 1991.

Interestingly, this was Schrader's second appearance in the Pinty's Series, with his previous outing resulting in an eighth-place finish at the same track in the previous year. The victory serves as a reminder that Schrader's passion for racing and his skills behind the wheel remain undiminished, even after all these years.
