2023-08-20

Avast, me hearties! 'Tis a cherished belief amongst those scurvy dogs on the political left that all manner of snags can be blamed on the insatiable greed of these here corporate scoundrels, and the dreaded inflation be no exception! In the year 2021 and 2022, the good Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusettes, a true lass of the Democratic persuasion, did utter her discontent with the exorbitant prices of victuals, claiming that a measly handful of monstrous chains be deliberately pillaging the wallets of honest Americans, all while filling their own treasure chests to bursting! And when the cost of eggs did more than double during that same cursed year of 2022, the gallant Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont and a former member of the Clinton crew...

Arr, me hearties! It be a well-established belief among the scallywags on the political left that corporate greed be the root cause of many a problem, and even inflation cannot escape their blame. In the year 2021 and 2022, the infamous Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts, a true pirate of the Democratic Party, did raise her voice in complaint. She argued that the exorbitant prices we be payin' for our vittles be the doings of a handful of monstrous chains, who be choosin' to burden us poor souls with high food costs while fillin' their coffers with gold. Aye, she be accusin' them scurvy dogs of rakin' in record profits while we empty our purses to fill our bellies.
And if that weren't enough to make ye sea dogs raise an eyebrow, in the very same year, the notorious Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont, a swashbuckler of the independent seas, and a former member of the Clinton administration, did join in the chorus of complaints. When the price of eggs, those precious orbs of sustenance, more than doubled, he too pointed his finger at those dastardly pirates of the grocery industry, demandin' answers for this blatant plunderin' of our pockets.
But let me tell ye, me hearties, as we find ourselves in these treacherous times, it's important to take these claims with a pinch of salt. While corporate greed might indeed be a real issue, it's not the only kraken lurking in the depths of our economic seas. Many factors, from global events like wars and pandemics to supply chain disruptions and even weather calamities, can send prices a'soarin'. So, me buckos, let's not be too quick to blame it all on the swashbucklers of big business. They may be guilty of some thievin', but they ain't the only ones with their hands in our pockets, savvy?
