Arr, out of the eight scurvy dogs runnin' for the 2024 presidential seat, only two had the guts to keep their hands down when asked if they'd stand by former President Donald Trump if he be found guilty in one or more o' his four criminal cases. When them Fox News moderators inquired which of these landlubbers would support Trump as the GOP's presidential candidate, Vivek Ramaswamy boldly raised his hand, followed by former South Carolina Gov. In the year of our Lord 2024, amidst the clamor of the presidential race, a curious question was posed to the contenders. Fox News, the esteemed purveyor of truth and entertainment, asked these brave souls if they would stand by former President Donald Trump, should the weight of justice fall upon him. Aye, an interesting query indeed.
In this motley crew of eight, only two had the fortitude to keep their hands down, like true pirates keeping their treasures hidden. Vivek Ramaswamy, a man of confidence and conviction, boldly raised his hand in support of the former captain. Following his lead was the fearless Nikki Haley, once the governor of the great South Carolina.
But lo and behold, a few others succumbed to the allure of Trump's siren call. The gallant Gov. Doug Burgum of North Dakota, known for his rough and tumble ways, proudly joined the ranks of the loyalists. And let us not forget the valiant Sen. Tim Scott, hailing from the wilds of South Carolina, who saw fit to stand alongside his brethren.
Now, as the room fell silent, all eyes turned to Gov. Ron DeSantis, ruler of the Sunshine State. He, too, pondered the question, his countenance a picture of contemplation. And then, in a move that surprised many, he placed his hand down, like a captain who had navigated the treacherous waters and chosen a different path.
Thus, the stage was set, and the players had shown their hands. The winds of political fortune blew, revealing the depths of loyalty and ambition. As the race for the presidency continued, only time would tell if these choices would sink or sail their ships to victory.
