Arrr, methinks this treasure-laden AMD be boastin' that their mid-range GPUs be capable o' churnin' out a grand 1440p resolution, whilst keepin' a steady 60FPS. Yet, be wary, for these scallywags do be demandin' a fair share o' power to fuel their plunderin' ways!

In a hilarious twist, AMD has officially announced its newest gaming graphics cards, the Radeon RX 7700 XT and the Radeon RX 7800 XT, at Gamescom 2023. These mid-range GPUs fill the gap between the 7600 XT and the 7900 XTX. Built on the RDNA 3 architecture, they boast the ability to deliver fully immersive 1440p gameplay at 60 Plus FPS, with 12GB and 16GB of high-speed GDDR6 VRAM, respectively.
One of the standout features of these graphics cards is the third generation of AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution, which provides high-resolution imagery while maintaining a high frame rate. This upscaling technology is limited to a few games like Cyberpunk 2077 and Black Myth: Wukong. Additionally, the AMD Radiance Display Engine and improved encoders enhance resolution and streaming quality.
AMD is emphasizing the value of these graphics cards, claiming they offer 20 percent more performance-per-dollar on average compared to their Nvidia rivals. They showcased comparisons between the RX 7800 XT and the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070, as well as the RX 7700 XT and the GeForce RTX 4060 TI. In both cases, AMD's cards performed better in most listed PC games.
However, there are a few drawbacks. The 7800 XT takes up 2.5 slots' worth of width on a desktop motherboard, while the RTX 4070 only takes up two slots. Moreover, AMD's cards require more power, with the 7700 XT needing 245W and the 7800 XT needing 263W, compared to the Nvidia counterparts.
The Radeon RX 7700 XT and 7800 XT will be available on September 6 for $449 and $499, respectively. These new additions to AMD's lineup are sure to shake up the best 1440p graphics cards for 2023.
